Museo, FertigoPro, & the Firefox Browser

I made an unpleasant discovery last night. I have been using @font-face font generator coupled with fonts from MyFonts.com. I chose a couple of complimentary fonts: Museo-500 for the body content, and FertigoPro for the headings. They both have the monetary advantage of being FREE, and the visual advantage of being LOVELY. What is it about Museo? I want to eat it, it's so cute.

I added the font statement to my stylesheet, uploaded the fonts to the server, and behold...I noticed that various words were spelled incorrectly. After trying to correct my mis-spellings, I realized my browser just wasn't rendering any "ff" or "fi" strings.

I went on over to Adobe BrowserLab, and then I examined the website in IE 6-9, Safari, and Chrome (recent versions). This only showed up in the Firefox browser, both Windows and OSX!

Sadly, I have no cure. I procured two more free font replacements for my headers and my body text. I posted over on the Mozilla website. As you can see, a few people (although not hundreds) are documenting the same thing.

I will post an update to all of my readers when that little bug is fixed!
