This is the short list of the services we offer. We believe in the KISS(G) (keep it simple, Silly Goose) creed. What we do, we do well, and being a "jack-of-all-trades" is a kiss allright - the kiss of death! If you can do everything, then you don't have time to do it all well! Web Design/Redesign
If you need a website because you are a new or established business and have never had one, this is a good place to start. Every business (well, with few exceptions - very few) needs a website. This is a standard expectation that your customers have of your business. A website can be so much more than that including another revenue stream for your business!
If this is a redesign because your site is dated, this, too, is an excellent place to start. You see, the process is similar for 411 Design Street staff to create the kind of site you want. We talk with you about your expectations. We study your existing marketing to make your new website look like it belongs to the complete package.
This process in determining what you want starts with communication. We meet, then you fill out a questionnaire. This questionnaire is a central part of you communicating to us exactly what you want. In some cases you may not know exactly what you want, but that's Okay. We offer suggestions, and we listen, ultimately leaving the decisions up to you.
It's like Kelly Goto said, "Communication is key".
Multimedia
Without listing things like "we are experienced in Flash animation" (because we are), or without shouting out "Hey, we can add video to your site for you!" (because we know how), we just want to let you know that we can create and add Flash to your site in ways that enhance and don't detract from it.
We can create animations and slideshows using Flash. We know, however, that there is so much that we can do with animation and multimedia (video, sound) on a website that it is often not questioned if it should be done! So, we know when it should be used, where it should be used, and just how much. We believe knowing when to use Flash and video, etc. is just as important as knowing how.
So, we can embed a Flash movie into part of your website page, we can create the entire site out of Flash, we can embed video. We can add sound to any of these elements!
Hosting
We offer feature-packed hosting. One common misunderstanding is the difference between hosting a website and registering a domain.
When you decide to have a website built, we always advise our clients to get their own domain name. It is an easy process usually. You just make a list of anything favorable that you have in mind, then you go to Whois.net to look it up. What are you looking for at Whois? To see if the name you want is available.
When you "purchase" that name, it is really more like leasing. It's yours until you quit paying your yearly fee.
Once you decide on a name, let us know and we get it (for approx. $10) for you. If you decide to host with us because we are fabulous, you are now renting a luxourious condo, with room to grow, for your soon-to-be-built new website. Or you can use the other guys and their townhouses. I jest!
Your hosting fee is monthly, again about $10 for most sites, and it allows you so many niceties. Please have a look at the left. If you don't know what these are, we will explain each and every one of them to you.
Maintaining Your Website
To use 411 Design Street to maintain your site is a good call. We even host and maintain sites that were created "back in the day" - that would be the day that Al Gore invented the internet. In other words, the staff at 411 Design Street offer maintenance services that keep the content on your site fresh. That means that users will come back again and again to view your new content.
Graphic Design
Logo design: We listen and talk with you so that we can design or redesign your logo.
Business cards/Letterhead: Using your existing logo (or the one we created), we create business cards and letterhead that compliment your business's image.
Brochures/posters: This is more of the same (above) except when we create a brochure or poster, it is generally for a specific service or event. We find out as much as we can about either the service or the event so that we can create a communication piece that pulls viewers in and invites them to act.
Books: We usually read the book first! This gives us invaluable information to help create the cover(s). Then we talk with the author to get their personal tastes into the cover. We have experience in creating the back cover, spine, and in turning the author's manuscript into attractive table of contents, chapters, headers and footers, etc.
